How long do transfers and payments take to process?

Answer

Processing times vary depending on the type of transfer or payment method you're using:

ACH Transfers

  • Outgoing ACH transfers: 1-3 business days to settle

  • Incoming ACH from external banks: 2-3 business days depending on the sending bank

Internal Transfers

  • Between accounts at the same bank: Instant

  • Between accounts at different partner banks: Processed as ACH (1-3 business days)

Wire Transfers

  • Outgoing and Incoming Domestic wires: Same business day if initiated during banking hours. Our banking partner's wire cutoff time is 4pm est.

  • Outgoing and Incoming International wires: Up to 5 business days via SWIFT

  • Incoming wires: Automatically booked the same day it is received once processed by the receiving bank

Investment Account Transfers

  • Money Market Fund deposits: Same business day if initiated before early afternoon EST, otherwise next business day

  • Money Market Fund withdrawals: Same day if requested before noon EST, otherwise T+1 settlement

  • Liquid Treasuries withdrawals: T+2 settlement

  • US Treasuries transfers: T+2 settlement time

  • Commercial Paper transfers: T+2 settlement time

Cryptocurrency (USDC)

  • USDC deposits: Almost always settle within the hour during business hours

  • USDC payments: Sent on-chain in less than 1 hour during business hours

  • After-hours USDC: May remain pending until the next business day

Check Deposits

  • Mobile check deposits: Funds are immediately credited but placed on hold for 5 business days to ensure the check doesn't bounce

Important Notes

  • Transfers initiated after banking hours or on weekends will be processed the next business day

  • Some transfers may experience delays due to compliance reviews or bank holidays

  • Auto-transfer rules run at 5am Eastern time
