What is USDC, and how does it work on Meow?

Last updated: April 13, 2026

USDC (USD Coin) is a regulated, US dollar-pegged stablecoin issued by Circle. One USDC is always worth one US dollar. It's designed to be sent and received on blockchain networks with the speed and programmability of crypto, but the stability of the dollar — no price volatility.

How does USDC work on Meow?

Meow integrates USDC directly into your cash balance. You can:

  • Convert USD to USDC (on-ramp) to send payments to wallets or counterparties

  • Receive USDC from external wallets and convert to USD (off-ramp) or hold as a stablecoin balance

  • Send USDC invoices to customers who prefer paying in stablecoins

  • Maintain a USDC balance in Meow for 24/7 stablecoin payments, without needing to convert from USD each time

The key difference from most crypto setups: there's no separate crypto wallet to manage. Everything runs through your Meow account dashboard.

Is USDC safe?

USDC is issued by Circle, a regulated financial institution. Each USDC is backed by US dollars or short-term US Treasuries held in reserve. Meow's stablecoin services are provided by Bridge Ventures LLC, a regulated payments company. Meow itself is never in the flow of funds — your account is held in your business's name with our partner bank.
