What is the difference between a virtual and physical Meow card?
Last updated: April 10, 2026
Meow offers two types of corporate Visa cards: virtual and physical. Both are issued at no cost, carry up to 2% unlimited cashback, and can be managed from your dashboard. Here's how they differ.
Virtual cards
Virtual cards are digital-only cards that are issued instantly. They have a card number, expiration date, and CVV — just like a physical card — but exist only in your Meow dashboard (and your digital wallet).
Best for:
Online purchases and subscriptions
Vendor-specific spending (one card per vendor for easy tracking)
Employees who primarily spend online or need a card immediately
Adding to Apple Pay or Google Pay for contactless payments
Available: Instantly after creation.
Physical cards
Physical cards are standard Visa commercial cards mailed to your business address. They work anywhere Visa is accepted, in-person and online.
Best for:
Team members who make in-person purchases (travel, meals, office supplies)
Any spend that requires a physical card at point of sale
Shipping time: Physical cards typically arrive within 7–10 business days after being created (including 3–5 days processing time).
