I see an unidentified or unexpected debit on my account — what is it?

Last updated: April 10, 2026

If you see a debit transaction on your Meow account that you don't recognize, here are the most common explanations and what to do.

Common causes of unrecognized debits

IntraFi sweep corrections If your account uses IntraFi's extended FDIC coverage network, you may occasionally see a transaction labeled something like "Miscellaneous Debit" or "Double posting error INT." These typically appear when IntraFi makes a correction to a prior sweep or interest posting. If you see this type of entry, contact Meow support and we'll confirm the details with your banking partner.

Card transactions A purchase made with a Meow virtual or physical card may post under a merchant name that's different from what you expected (for example, a parent company name rather than a brand name). Check your Cards section in the dashboard to match the transaction amount and date to a card purchase.

ACH debits If you've previously authorized ACH payments — for example, to a vendor, payroll provider, or subscription service — those debits may appear from the originating company. Review your authorized ACH activity in your dashboard.

Scheduled or recurring payments A bill pay, recurring wire, or auto-transfer you set up previously may have processed. Check your scheduled payments in the Move Money section of your dashboard.

Returned payment corrections In rare cases, a previously credited payment may be reversed if it was returned by the originating bank. These corrections appear as debits and will be noted in the transaction description.

What should I do if I don't recognize a debit?

  1. Check your Cards, Move Money, and scheduled payments sections to see if the transaction matches any activity you initiated.

  2. If you still can't identify it, contact Meow support at support@meow.com with the transaction date, amount, and description. We'll investigate and explain the charge or escalate to your banking partner.

  3. If you believe the transaction is genuinely unauthorized, contact support immediately so we can begin a dispute investigation.
